Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of Hosts: the whole world is filled with his glory: - Isaiah 6: 3
The Seraphins is a fellowship that praises God Almighty, who has given us life solely by His grace and mercy. We thank God for being with us for ten years and for what we have become, despite our humble beginnings. This group was formed in the last week of November 2013, and its activities officially commenced on December 1, 2013. We have just celebrated our 10th anniversary of glorifying God. It was christened "The Seraphins" in 2015, symbolizing the seraphim who sing God's praises.
By God's grace, we are trained in Indian music, including Carnatic and light music singing, as well as Western singing, comprising Soprano, Bass, Tenor, and Alto. Since 2013, The Seraphins choir has been a musical home for 118 members. Currently, the choir consists of 13 Basses, 11 Tenors, 15 Altos, and 22 Sopranos, actively participating in practices and events. Additionally, 29 musicians are trained in instruments like Keyboard, Violin, Guitar, Tabla, and Drums. Dr. S. Ginil Mon serves as Director cum Conductor, Prof. A. Biju as Secretary, and Mr. E. Edwin Manohar, Mrs. D. Sujitha Merlin, and Mrs. R. Sunitha as Coordinators. We contributed Rupees 4.5 lakhs to the CSI Kanjirapuram District Church building construction through ticket sales from our concert.
The Seraphins have conducted three grand concerts with mass choir performances, participated in 21 performances, 45 competitions, and won 28 prizes, including 12 first prizes. Our recent event, "Hallelujah 2023" on November 26, 2023, was a record-breaking event where around 700 trained singers came together for a mass choir performance, singing "Hallelujah Chorus" and six other songs.
The vision of this choir is to help those interested in singing develop their talents and praise God Almighty. Practices are held at CSI Kanjirapuram District Church, Kanjiracode, and Chapel, Nesamony Memorial Christian College, Marthandam.
God has blessed us with the support of each member, their parents, and family members. We thank all our members, their families, supporters, friends, and well-wishers for their constant encouragement. Let us support each other and grow in Christ to praise God Almighty, for which we were created.
We conclude with a verse from David: Psalms 95:1-2, "Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song."
Thank you, and may God bless you all.
